Virus and malware removal in Adelaide

An infected machine is unsettling in a way a broken one is not. It is not just that the computer is misbehaving — it is that you no longer know what is on it, what it has seen, or whether your accounts are safe. That part matters as much as the cleanup.

I remove what is there, work out how it got in, and make sure the same door is not left open. Then I tell you plainly which passwords are worth changing and which are not, so you are not resetting forty accounts out of vague anxiety.

Sound familiar?

These are the ones I get called about most. If yours is not listed, it is still worth asking.

  • Pop-ups and adverts appearing outside the browser
  • The browser homepage or search engine keeps changing back
  • New toolbars, extensions or programs you never installed
  • The machine has become dramatically slower over a few days
  • A full-screen warning demanding you call a support number
  • Files renamed or inaccessible, with a note asking for payment
  • Friends receiving emails or messages you did not send

Virus Removal & System Repair — common questions

Will I lose my files?

Not in a normal cleanup — the aim is always to keep your data exactly where it is. If the infection is bad enough that a full reinstall is the only honest fix, I back your files up first, check them, and put them back afterwards. You will know which path we are on before I start.

I got a pop-up saying to call a number. Was that real?

Almost certainly not. Neither Microsoft, Apple nor your bank will ever put a phone number in a full-screen browser warning. If you have already called one and let someone connect to your machine, stop using it for banking and ring me — that needs handling properly, not just a scan.

Isn't free antivirus enough?

For everyday protection, the built-in protection in Windows and macOS is genuinely decent and I will happily tell you when you do not need to buy anything. What free tools do not do well is clean up an infection that has already embedded itself, which is a different job from blocking one.
