Hands-on tech help, without the runaround
I'm an independent IT technician and software developer based in Adelaide. I work with households, small businesses, clinics, trades and independent professionals who want one reliable person to own their technology. Some people call me because a machine has died. Others bring me a process that has outgrown spreadsheets and needs real software behind it.

"I would rather simplify what you already have than sell you another subscription."
Why people keep my number
Most technology problems are not really technical problems. They are communication problems — someone was told what was wrong in language they could not use, given a price they could not check, and left unsure whether the fix actually worked.
So I do the opposite. I diagnose before I quote. I explain what is wrong in words you can repeat to somebody else. I tell you when something is not worth fixing, even though that is the job I do not get paid for. And I answer my own phone, so there is never a queue between you and the person doing the work.
Because I handle both the hands-on side and the development side, I can follow a problem all the way down. The same person who replaces your laptop screen can also build the job-tracking system that replaces the spreadsheet you have been fighting with — and that means fewer handovers, and fewer things lost between them.
How I work
Tell me what's going on
A phone call or a few lines is plenty. Plain language is fine — you do not need to know the technical words for it.
I take a proper look
I diagnose before I quote, so you get a real answer about what is wrong instead of an educated guess.
You see the scope and the price
Written down in plain English, including what I am not doing, so there is nothing to argue about later.
I do the work, then check back
You get told what changed and why. A while later I follow up to make sure the fix is actually holding.
