Microsoft 365 setup and migration in Adelaide

Microsoft 365 is easy to sign up for and easy to get wrong. The common results are a business paying for licences nobody uses, mail flowing through a tenant nobody controls, files scattered between OneDrive and a server, and multi-factor authentication switched off because it was annoying.

I set it up the way it should have been from the start: mail migrated with nothing lost, files in the right place with sensible sharing, MFA on without making everyone's day harder, and licences matched to what people actually do.

Sound familiar?

These are the ones I get called about most. If yours is not listed, it is still worth asking.

  • Email still on an old host, or on a personal provider
  • Nobody sure who controls the tenant or the domain
  • Paying for licences that nobody is using
  • Files spread between OneDrive, SharePoint and a local server
  • MFA never enabled, or switched off because it got in the way
  • Shared mailboxes set up as full user accounts
  • A departing staff member whose mailbox needs handling properly

Microsoft 365 Setup — common questions

Will we lose email during the migration?

No. A migration is staged so mail keeps flowing throughout and the cutover happens once everything has already been copied across. Historic mail, calendars and contacts come with it. Downtime, if there is any, is measured in minutes and planned for a time that suits you.

Which licence do we actually need?

Usually a cheaper one than you are on. The plan differences come down to a handful of features most small teams never touch. I will go through what your people genuinely use and tell you where you are overpaying.

Is multi-factor authentication worth the hassle?

Yes, and it is the single highest-value security change most small businesses can make. Configured well it asks most staff for approval once and then leaves them alone for weeks. Most of the pain people associate with MFA comes from it being switched on without being set up.
